McKinney’s Family-Friendly Halloween Event!
On Friday, October 30th, Historic Downtown McKinney will be hosting the annual Scare on the Square! Running from 4 pm to 7 pm, Main Street and the local shops in downtown will offer a hauntingly good time! Bring the whole family down to enjoy the sights of hundreds of ghosts and goblins young and old through interactive activities!
The Historic Downtown McKinney is closed off for trick-or-treating so that the youngsters can safely visit shop-to-shop for goodies! Alongside the safe trick-or-treating, there will be a host of fun and activities for kids of all ages and, best of all, admission is free!
If you are feeling creative this year, get creative and compete for spooktacular prizes! There will be prizes for the best dressed in the following categories:
- 0 – 3 years
- 4 – 7 years
- 8 – 12 years
- Star Wars
- Be Green – homemade/recycled costumes!
The costume contest will kick off at 6 pm, starting with the youngest age group. Signups for the contest begin at 5 pm in front of Main Street Magic & Fun Company, 211 N. Tennessee. As the event will only judge the first 20 sign ups of each grouping, be sure to arrive early!
In addition to all of the festive fun, they couldn’t miss out the Ghost Hunt! Find 20 hidden ghosts around the town for your chance to win a shopping spree!
