It’s the perfect gooey dessert or cinnamon breakfast treat for Christmas morning. Here’s what you need to get started.
Ingredients:
4 1/2 cups bread flour
2 1/2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
1/2 cup white sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup warm milk
1/3 cup margarine, melted
Cinnamon topping:
2 1/2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/3 cup butter, softened
Icing:
1 package cream cheese, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
Start by combining all dough ingredients in a bread machine, remembering to consult the instruction manual. Mix the ingredients until the dough is made. Let the dough expand, then cover and let it rest for about ten minutes.
Once the dough is ready, roll it out onto a flat surface. Combine the cinnamon and the sugar in separate bowl. Coat the dough with the 1/3 cup of butter and sprinkle the sugar mixture throughout the dough. Roll the dough and slice into individual rolls. Transfer the rolls onto a baking dish. Cover and let the dough rise for about 30 minutes, while the oven preheats to 400 degrees. Bake for 15 minutes.
As the rolls bake, make the icing. Combine the cream cheese, vanilla, butter, salt, and sugar. Coat the warm cinnamon rolls and serve warm.
